Covid-19 Vaccination

Updated: 12 January 2021 · Practice news

We have now commenced Covid-19 vaccination at the practice and, over the next few months, we will be inviting eligible patients to book at the practice or into external clinics for this welcome vaccination. To begin with, supplies may come in slowly but we would expect this to change as time goes on.

Under the guidance issued by the Scottish Government, we will begin with patients who are over 80 years of age, who are able to come in to the practice setting to be vaccinated. At this time, there is no provision for home vaccination for those who are housebound or infirm, although this will likely change as time progresses.

We have already contacted the patients in this group that we feel have the highest risk of complications should they develop the virus (i.e. patients over 80 who are also on the clinically shielding list) and are now contacting other patients who are in their 90s at this time to invite them to attend for this. We are aiming to have contacted and vaccinated all of the eligible patients in this age group by mid February.

We would ask that you wait to be contacted by the practice as we will get to everyone over the course of the next few weeks.
