Flu Vaccination

Posted: 14 September 2021 · Practice news

Flu vaccination season is upon us once again and as we did last year, we will be working in collaboration with our NHS Tayside colleagues to ensure that as many eligible patients as possible are vaccinated in a timely manner, as we head into the winter months.

In the practice, we will be able to offer vaccination to any patient who is:

  1. Aged 70 and over as at 1/9/2021
  2. Aged between 18 & 69 as at 1/9/2021, and considered to be Clinically Extremely Vulnerable or were previously asked to shield as part of Coronavirus restrictions.

Other eligible patients who are under the age of 70 years of age (including children) will be directly offered vaccination by NHS Tayside teams at locations outwith the practice (by way of a blue enveloped invitation) and in community settings or within the school environment.

Patients who are in care homes or considered to be housebound will be vaccinated in their home by a vaccinating team.

Booking your Appointment

During our practice clinics, we will be expected to adhere to the current physical distancing requirements for healthcare premises. Therefore, patients will be required to book into a dedicated appointment to have their vaccination carried out and will be asked to wear a face covering whilst in the practice, unless they are exempt from doing so.

Please contact the practice to book in if you are eligible for practice vaccination. We respectfully ask that you call between 10.00am and 4.00pm to arrange your appointment.

We do expect lines to be busy, therefore we respectfully ask for your patience and understanding as our reception staff will be under considerable pressure at this time with the increased volume of calls.

Our practice clinics will begin on Saturday 18th September and they will continue throughout October and November.
